How Remote Viewing Mentalism Works
What a cool trick to perform at your next show, or just to perform for some of your family and friends.
How the Trick Works:
- Prior to the performance, ask a participant to sketch a simple
drawing, seal it in an envelope and keep it with
them. Later during the performance, you invite them to think about
the picture and after some concentration you draw
something on a notepad. You query the participant to open the
envelope and reveal the drawing they made. You spin your
notepad around to show a matching drawing.
- You will need to create a device to accomplish this effect. You will require
a clipboard made of cardboard with a plastic coating. With a sharp knife, slice along the bottom of the clipboard to form an
opening.
- Next take a piece of carbon paper and tape it to a sheet of standard
paper at the top. Wedge this into the flap of the clipboard until it is
totally inside. Now glue the flap shut and using a marker
pen, color the cardboard to match the plastic on the clipboard. The
gimmicked clipboard is ready.
- When you ask the participant to make a drawing, give them the pad
with a couple of sheets of paper clipped in it and a stubby
pencil. The short pencil causes the participant to press harder on the paper as they draw,
creating a clearer carbon impression on the secret sheet inside.
- In secret before you begin your performance, peel back the plastic and
carefully remove the paper inside. The participant’s drawing will be
clearly visible because of the hidden carbon paper.
Most people will draw something simple like a house, an automobile or a
face - so it should not be hard to recall.
